What is group video calling?
Group video calling is a feature of Skype Premium, allowing multiple users to engage in a shared video call. It is a great way for you to get all your friends, relatives, or colleagues on one call at the same time, face-to-face. How can I/my band participate in ‘Join Say it with Skype’?
It’s easy — artists or bands can enter the contest by logging in to Facebook and visiting the app here [https://apps.facebook.com/jointheapp/]. Next, click the green ‘Get started’ button beneath the message options, enter your band name, and either record yourself or your band performing on a webcam, or enter a URL where we can find your pre-recorded material. We suggest recording via webcam, so the judges can see your skills first-hand. Contest closes Thursday, June 14th. -
What is ‘Join Say it with Skype’?
Join Say it with Skype is our search for the next band to feature in the Say it with Skype app. We’re asking aspiring musicians and unsigned acts to show us their talent for the chance to be the next band included in Say it with Skype — entries will be judged by Pete Wentz of Black Cards and Fall Out Boy, singer-songwriter and producer Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, and MTV music personality Matt Pinfield. -
Why do I have to allow permission access on Facebook to use the app?
You are asked to grant the app permission to access your Facebook profile so that we can customize and streamline your experience within the app. This allows us to do things like present you with all your Facebook friends that have current or upcoming birthdays for you to choose from. Skype respects your privacy and will always keep your information secure. -
Is the app only available in the US?
The app can be accessed worldwide, both via Facebook and on Skype’s website here [http://www.skype.com/intl/en/features/allfeatures/group-video-calls/sayitwithskype/]. -
How did you choose the bands that currently feature in the app?
We chose the current featured bands because we think they provide a fun and diverse group of talented acts to choose from. They represent a variety of musical styles, and each give a unique take on the songs and messages they’re delivering. We’re always on the lookout for the next batch of bands to include, so be sure to check in regularly for any new additions. -
Can I make more than one video?
Yes, we encourage you to make as many videos as you like. -
Can I retrieve / view a card I sent previously?
The unique URL we give you when you create a message will link to the video indefinitely. You’ll only be able to access the URL and embed code when you originally create the video though, so remember to copy down these codes when you create your message for safekeeping.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions are applicable to your use of the Skype Global Say it With Skype Application (“Application”) and use of the accompanying website (“Site”). By using the Application or Site; or by sending or submitting any Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, to the Application (directly or indirectly); or by creating a Greeting, with or without a Greeting Message or Content, using the Application provided on this Site, you agree to these terms and conditions which constitute a legal agreement between you and Skype Communications S.a.r.l, 23-29 Rives de Clausen, L-2165 Luxembourg (“Skype”). “You” shall mean the person that uses the Application, Site and/or makes the Greeting, Greeting Message or Content and/or sends or submits the Greeting via the Application or Site. Any personal data collected shall be subject to the terms of Skype’s Privacy Policy at www.skype.com/privacy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Application or use this Site.
You must be aged 18 or over to use the Application.
Application: Users of the Application may create a customised greeting with Greeting Messages and Content (collectively, “Greeting”) to (i) share with their Facebook friends via the Application on Facebook.com or other Facebook properties (“Facebook”) or (ii) share with other contacts via email from the Application hosted on Skype.com.
Skype does not guarantee that your Greeting or any customised recorded video message for the Greeting (“Greeting Message”) or any custom written message in the Greeting (“Content”) will appear on the Site. Skype does not undertake to publish your Greeting and reserves the right not to publish any Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, in its sole discretion.
Skype does not guarantee that the intended recipients of your Greeting will receive the Greeting. Skype reserves the right to not send your Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, in its sole discretion.
You understand and agree that by submitting your Greeting (including any Greeting Message or Content), your Greeting (including any Greeting Message or Content) (as applicable) may be published on the Site, Skype.com or on Skype’s YouTube channel. Your Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, will not be acknowledged or returned to you. You also understand and agree that your Greeting (including any Greeting Message or Content) will be sent to the selected Facebook friend and, if so submitted, email contact.
By submitting a Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, you hereby grant to Skype and its affiliates, and agents a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable right to use, reproduce, distribute, broadcast, display, perform, copy, create derivative works of, edit, alter, transmit, and publish or otherwise exploit your Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, (as applicable) (including your name, image, likeness and voice included therein) in connection with the Application, including on the Site, Skype.com and on Skype’s YouTube channel.
You shall not submit any Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, that is (in Skype’s sole discretion) deemed to be offensive, defamatory, unlawful, obscene, libellous, threatening, pornographic, hateful, harassing, racially or ethnically offensive, encourages dangerous, irresponsible, anti-social or criminal behaviour, gives rise to civil liability, infringes upon any person or entity’s person or proprietary rights, brings Skype or its products or affiliates or partners into disrepute or is otherwise inappropriate. Furthermore, you shall not submit any Greeting that offers commercial services, contains advertising or spam or includes programs that contain viruses or any other programs designed to impair the functionality of any computer or device.
You represent and warrant that (1) you own or control all of the rights to all relevant copyright materials and/or other intellectual property rights contained in your Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content (including any music or photographs featured within it); (2) you have obtained all relevant permissions and licences from any third parties or third party material appearing in your Greeting, including the right to use their name, likeness and performance and including the right for Skype to use such materials on the same terms as set out in these terms and conditions; (3) the Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, will not infringe any third party copyright, patent, trade mark, trade secret or other proprietary right or rights of publicity or privacy; and (4) the Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, is not offensive, defamatory, unlawful, obscene, libellous, threatening, pornographic, hateful, harassing, racially or ethnically offensive or encouraging dangerous, irresponsible, anti-social or criminal behaviour.
Reporting Inappropriate Greetings, Greeting Messages and/or Content: If you believe that any Greetings, including Greeting Messages or Content, published on the Site or Skype.com infringes your intellectual property rights or is defamatory or otherwise inappropriate, please report this to sayitwithskype@skype.net Skype reserves the right to remove Greetings, including Greeting Messages or Content, within such timescales as may be decided from time to time by Skype in its sole discretion. Such Greetings, including any Greeting Messages or Content, shall be taken down without any admission as to liability and without prejudice to any rights, remedies or defences, all of which are expressly reserved. You acknowledge and agree that Skype is under no obligation to put back any Greetings, including any Greeting Messages or Content, that have been removed.
Third Party Sites; Facebook: The Site may include hyperlinks to other websites. Your use of each of these third party websites is subject to the terms and conditions posted on the applicable website. Skype has no control over such third party websites and the inclusion on the Site of a hyperlink to any third party website is not an endorsement by Skype of such website, or to any content, products or services available on it. Any use of such hyperlinks or third party sites is at your sole risk. Furthermore, your use of Facebook is subject to the terms and conditions on Facebook. Skype has no control over Facebook and Skype’s use of Facebook for hosting the application is not an endorsement by Skype of Facebook, or to any content, products or services available on it.
No Warranty: To the fullest extent permitted by law, your use of the Application is at your sole risk and is provided by Skype without warranties of any kind either express or implied and Skype disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, or the warranty of non-infringement. Without limiting the foregoing, Skype does not warrant that the Application will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the server that makes it available are free of viruses or other harmful components.
You hereby agree to indemnify, release, discharge and hold Skype, its affiliates, agencies and their employees and directors harmless from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages and costs of any kind resulting from your use of this Application or Site and Skype’s use of your Greeting, including any Greeting Message or Content, including without limitation any breach or alleged breach by you of these terms and conditions.
Skype shall not be liable in contract, tort (including negligence) or breach of statutory duty or in any other way for any loss or damage suffered by you resulting directly or indirectly in connection with the Application. Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing shall limit Skype’s liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by its negligence.
Trade marks: Skype™, associated trademarks and logos and the “S” symbol are trademarks of Skype Limited. All other trademarks not owned by Skype or any of its related companies that appear on this site are the property of their respective owners.
Copyright: The content and compilation of content included on Skype’s website (excluding any Greetings, Greeting Messages or Content) such as text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads and software, are the property of Skype Limited and are protected by United States and international copyright laws. Such copyright protected content cannot be reproduced without Skype’s express permission.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England & Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
